Seattle Protests, Black Lives Matter, George Floyd, May 30, 2020, Demonstrator With Say Their Names Poster
This Studio 2.8 photography photograph of a racial justice demonstrator with a poster leaning against her leg that contained the headline "Say their Names", and the list of the names of African American people killed by police, downtown Seattle, Washington on the courtyard in front of the federal courthouse near 7th Avenue and Stewart Street during the late afternoon of Saturday May 30 2020. This Studio 2.8 photography photo was produced after peaceful demonstrators had marched for miles through the streets of Seattle, carrying their political signs and posters, chanting "Black Lives Matter", performed call and response hockets such as "What's His Name", "George Floyd", and so on, given speeches in front of Seattle Police Headquarters on 5th Avenue, had given speeches in Westlake Park, and then gathered in front of the federal courthouse for a third set of speeches. The racial justice speeches in front concluded with a prayer led by a local African American minister.
